The Boston Business Journal recently announced Jennifer Pinck, president and founder of Pinck & Co. Inc., is the recipient of its second-annual LGBT Business Trailblazer Award. The BBJ is also honoring Harvard Pilgrim Health Care as the recipient of its Business of Pride corporate award.

In an article, the BBJ described Pinck as a “distinguished leader in the local design and construction industry.” Said BBJ’s Market President and Publisher Carolyn M. Jones, “Harvard Pilgrim and Jennifer Pinck have made invaluable contributions to the LGBT community in and around the Boston area for many years now – Harvard Pilgrim as a longtime supporter of LGBT causes and Jennifer as an LGBT business owner and pioneer in her field – and we feel extremely privileged to be able to honor them both.”

Pinck, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her firm, began her career in the building trades, was a construction superintendent for G.B.H. Macomber Company, and worked in management positions for the Boston Harbor Cleanup Project and the Big Dig. “I’m honored to receive this award and grateful to the BBJ and to Harvard Pilgrim for helping to make meaningful strides toward equality,” said Pinck. “The BBJ’s Business of Pride initiative sends an important message to the business community that everyone has a right to be accepted for who they are in the workplace.”
